The climate temperatures of the archipelago are mild throughout the year, both in the open air and in the water. Is a subtropical oceanic climate, and the rains are concentrated in the months between October and March. Moderated by the Gulf Stream, the sea temperature is between 16ºC in the months of February to April and 24ºC in August. 

The ocean can be perfect for boat trips during which you can see more than 20 species of whales, including sperm whales. If you prefer to stay on land, use the viewpoints, ancient watchtowers used by whale hunters. You can go to the summit by climbing the highest mountain in Portugal (2351 meters) or take dives. Inside, enjoy the lakes, cascades, trails, bird watching and flowers.

The Azores archipelago, made up of nine islands, each with its own very different characteristics, offers all kinds of landscapes imaginable. Beaches surrounded by vegetation, geysers that refer to volcanic origin, vineyards planted in lava fields, lakes within volcanic calderas, mountains covered by dense vegetation and Baroque villages form the characteristic landscape of this archipelago.

The soil of volcanic origin of these Atlantic islands favors the cultivation and development of food that make regional cuisine unique and rich in flavors. Taking advantage of its geothermic source of energy, the Cozido das Furnas, stew of the beautiful Lagoon of Furnas, made underground for 5-6 hours, is among the most unique forms of cooking one can find in this part of the world! 

There is a lot more, as the amazing experience of tasting sour water, there is a wide diversity of fish and seafood as the grilled limps or cracas, a kind of barnacle, the famous Cheese of São Jorge island, the local Tea Gorreana, the only one grow in Europe, not to mention the sweet Pineapple or the never-too-many Queijadas, small pastries made of cheese.
